4 years ago I stumbled across a funny and fantastic children’s book.  It made my top 10 of the year and I maintained then and still do that it knocks the spots of Harry Potter.  Why did the book not go into orbit? It was self-published.  Now the ways of publishing are mysterious and so I haven’t got a clue as to why it has taken Panama Oxbridge 4 years to find a publisher.  The good news now though is that Inside Pocket will be publishing the much anticipated sequel on October 1st.

Today, however, see publication of the paperback of the 1st book,  Justin Thyme, The Tartan of Thyme.  (My original review is here.)  To celebrate, the Tartan of Thyme Blog is running a competition with signed/doodled copies of both JUSTIN THYME and its forthcoming sequel THYME RUNNING OUT as the prize.

(Am I entering?  You betcha!  I didn’t see an age limit, did you?)

All readers have to do is visit the participating blogs, note down the letters and numbers on the Justin Thyme bookmarks (see photo on left), then rearrange the letters in numerical order.  This spells a secret message (Justin’s description of himself).  Visit the Tartan of Thyme blog to find links to all participating blogs, and to email your answer.  The competition will close on September 7th, when a winner (picked at random from the correct entries) will be announced.

In addition to the official competition, I will giveway one of the limited edition bookmarks pictured above.  There are only 40 of these, enclosed in a hand-decorated presentation card. Each card is stamped on the front with an hourglass design edged in gold and colourised.  The first line of the story is written on the inside, together with the author’s signature and fingerprint.

To enter, simply leave a comment stating your preferred bookmark:  17-S or 31-K and if you have a blog, please leave a link.  Open worldwide until 7th September.
