I just wanted to say how much I have enjoyed NYRB reading week. So thanks to the co-hosts The Literary Stew and Coffeespoons for all their efforts and to all the participants for the numerous additions to my virtual TBR and my google reader! It has been an erudite discussion accentuated by some wonderful book covers!

To see us out, let’s simply celebrate the design of the NYRB classics.

It’s a competition with one single question but it’s not an easy one. Please tell me which is your favourite NYRB cover design and why.  I’ll give you a week to think about it. The winner,  selected by random.org,  will receive an NYRB classic of their choice.  Open worldwide.

I’ll kick us off (though I’m excluded from my own competition, naturally). Earlier this year, NYRB released Brian Moore’s The Lonely Passion of Judith Hearne. Let’s just say the cover simply took my breathe away! A stunning cover to match a stunning read.  If there was a poster, I’d hang it in my library.
