I’m only joking! Even I know when a good thing has run its course.
But German Literature Month wasn’t good this year- it was outstandingly brilliant and that’s down to all the participants. Thank you, each and every one for all the effort, participation and enthusiasm. The finalised author index will follow in about a week’s time and it will be phenomenal.
I know I was supposed to write a review of the 5 Dials magazine today – but guess what? I’m late again. I discovered that its 64 pages of short pieces are designed to be savoured slowly. So that is what I shall do and I will write a review that does it justice when finished. It is, truth be told, also designed to be printed out – but I have decided it shall be my very first e-read as I’m officially in training for Uwe Teller’s 1000 page German book prize winning Der Turm, which when translated will only be available in ebook format.
I hope you found plenty of inspiration during German Literature Month. I know I did and I suspect from the rate my TBR has grown that there’ll be plenty of German lit reviews to come before we meet up again next year. Because we will be doing it all over again, won’t we?
